Give Technologies Inc. and Give Foundation (“Give”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) values and respects your privacy.
This Privacy Notice describes our privacy practices on the Give Foundation App (the “App”) and on our website located at www.withgive.com (the “Website”). The App and the Website (collectively, the “Platform”) are owned and operated by Give, and we can be contacted at the contact information set out below.
We collect and use information for the purposes identified below.
Registration: If you register on the Platform, we collect your full name, email address, and a password. We use this information to create and administer your account. We strongly recommend that you do not disclose your password to anyone. We will never ask you for your password in any unsolicited communication (such as letters, phone calls or email messages). If you log into the Platform through a third party service (e.g., social media platform), we may receive further information from you depending on your settings, such as your birthdate, location, and age.
Portfolio: Once you have registered for an account, we will ask you for certain information in order to build your personalized Give portfolio. This information includes your postal code, annual income range, monthly donation amount, the charitable causes you care about, and credit card information. We use this information to recommend charities you might be interested in and calculate a recommended monthly donation amount.
Donations and Tax Receipts: If you choose to make a donation through the Platform, we will collect certain information from you in order to process the donation, such as your credit card information, postal code, and donation amount. We will also collect your first and last name and address in order to issue tax receipts.
Location Information: With your consent, we may also collect your location information when you register on the Platform. We use this information to recommend charities in your region that may be of interest to you. Push Notifications: If you provide your consent to receive push notifications, we may send push notifications to your mobile device to provide you with App updates and other relevant information about charities you might be interested in or donation reminders. We may also send you push notifications to ask for your feedback on our services, and to inform you about other features we think may interest you. If you wish to stop receiving push notifications from us, you can turn off push notifications for the App in the settings of your mobile device.
Email Communications: We may send you emails at the email address you provided to register for the App or at the sign-up page on our Website. If you no longer wish to receive these emails, simply unsubscribe by clicking the relevant link at the bottom of the email. You may unsubscribe at any time. Alternatively, you can opt out of receiving our emails through your in-App settings or by contacting us using the information set out under “Contact Us” below.
Contact Us: When you contact us with a comment, question or complaint through email, telephone, the App, or on our Website, you may be asked for information that identifies you, such as your name, address and a telephone number, along with additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment. We may retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service and service offerings.
Usage Information & Analytics: As with many applications, certain limited data is required for the App to function on your device. This data includes the type of device hardware and operating system, unique device identiﬁer, IP address, language settings, and the date and time the App accesses our servers. We use this information to help us understand the activity on our App, to monitor and improve our App, and to tailor your in-App experience. In addition, we may use third party service providers to collect analytical information about your use of the App, such as the App features used and time spent on the App, to help us tailor your in-app experience, improve our products and the quality of our App, and to manage and analyze data in order to better understand our users.
Careers: If you apply for a job by email or by mail, you may provide us with certain personal information about yourself, such as information contained in a resume, cover letter, or similar employment-related materials. We use this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities.
Visiting our Website: In general, you can visit our Website without telling us who you are or submitting any personal information. However, we collect the IP (Internet protocol) addresses of all visitors to our Website and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on our Website. We use this information to help us understand our Website activity and to monitor and improve our Website.
Cookies: Our Website uses a technology called "cookies". A cookie is a tiny element of data that our Website sends to a user’s browser, which may then be stored on the user’s hard drive so that we can recognize the user’s computer or device when they return. We have implemented reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures designed to safeguard the information in our custody and control against theft, loss and unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure.
We restrict access to information on a need-to-know basis to employees and authorized service providers who require access to fulfill their job requirements. Our employees are also contractually required to keep any information they access confidential.
We have information retention processes designed to retain information for no longer than necessary for the purposes stated above or to otherwise meet legal requirements.
